Hi I'm new to the forum - diagnosed 9 months ago age 24, and have been trying to follow the diet for the last 3-4 months now.
I have cut out dairy and gluten successfully (though with much difficulty) but as a vegetarian, I cannot see how I can cut out legumes and still eat a healthy diet. Is there anyone in a similar position who can offer advice?
I was therefore also wondering, how strictly must we adhere to the diet?
How essential is it to cut out legumes altogether?
Is it ok just to reduce intake of legumes?
Is cross-contamination (eg. "this product may contain traces of gluten/lactose") a problem, or can we still eat foods with this warning label on?
I would really appreciate any help and advice, even if it's just a link to an old thread, as I am considering just giving up on this diet altogether as it is taking over my life.
Thanks
