I have learned in the years since finding out I have MS that one of the things that can always make me happy or make me actually feel less pain is my pets.
I have seven of them.
1 rat, his name is Frodo
1 guinea pig her name is Amelia
1 hamster, his name is Otis
2 cats, Rewind and Amber
2 birds, Marvin and Trill, they are budgies
The cats are good for a cuddle and I love lestening to them purr as they sit beside me or when I am brushing their fur. They sleep with me when I am feeling unwell, and they always listen without judgement when I talk.
The rodents, especially Frodo are so full of personality. They are funny, wriggly, and they make me laugh sometimes just because they are themselves.
The pet store inour mall allows you to come in with your pet, and I have taken Frodo for walks perched on my shoulders to see the place and the people who sell us his food. The piggy is noisy, and, we are convinced, part bunny, she hops. The hamster is happiest chasing us around the roon in his ball. And the birds are loud, funny, and our blue one, Marvin seems to think he is a bat.
He spends alot of time hanging upside down.
I wouldn't trade any of them for anything.
They are a lot of work, but they are worth it.
My family agrees.
Anyone else want to share a pet story?
Cheers
ratgirl
