Hi funnytales,
Which neuro in paticular? I sat in on the same lectures as the Editor as well as a workshop which I covered for NP. If it was Alistair Coles then yes, he certainly caused a stir when he said that our life expectancy is only 35 yrs after our initial symtpoms. The colleague I was with looked at me and said roughly, 'That's me dead then because I can trace mine back to the age of 14". I replied that I too should be pushing up daisies by now because I clearly remember presenting with my first symptom (vertigo) aged 13." You can read the Editor's own comments on that in the Editorial - and she was only two seats away from me. I've never heard such a stir in an auditorium in all my life Eiona. PS This message comes to you from my ashes floating in cyberspace

Sorry - should have been clearer
It was Alistar Coles and his
remarkable stats (since when has a neruo collected stats on divorce ![]() ) Seems like a lot of neuros have the same bed side manner - are
there special classes for it

Hi funnytales
Talking of floating in cyberspace (and off topic I'm afraid) I'm coming back to this because today June 3rd I received an email telling me you'd replied to my posting on 21st May
Since then, I've been touring Scotland, getting some of my writing onto an audio CD (in my absence, it seems ) and have also, according to my MS Nurse 'short-circuited'
i.e. I'd over used my legs to the extent that they refused to comply
any longer. She called it 'short-circut fatigue'. An interesting term because I wasn't feeling MS fatigued in the usual way but I always knew
I'd blow a fuse one day though
Eiona PS The audio CD was for THIS |

I was talking to an acquaintance the other day and telling her about the pronouncements of A. Coles esq and friend said that her mother in law was diagnosed
with MS in her late twenties, she's now 72yrs old, goes to Australia every second year on holiday at the moment she's in Spain on holiday. She lives
without any help, only uses a walking stick when she's out n about. Sue is looking forward to telling her mum in law that she should have been dead years
ago. When I was eventually diagnosed the neuro said that my type of MS is pretty benign. Strange that I now rely on a wheelie when outside. I often think that
the whole issue is guess work.
